11.20 "Sinjorino Maŭmaŭ,ne licas fari tion! Tio domaĝos al la bebo! Vi devas esti prudenta,Sinjorino Maŭmaŭ. Vi devas esti singarda, alie la bebo..." Ekŝvitis Onklo Pan. Li estis panika kaj timplena.

"Madam Mao Mao,you shouldn't do that! It will hurt the baby! You must be reasonable,Madam Mao Mao. You must be careful, otherwise the baby will..." Uncle Pan started to sweat. He was panicky and afraid.
"I want it to die! I don't want to live even myself! Oh,my dear Mao Mao! Oh,my sweetest Mao Mao! How can I live while you are kept in jail!" She proceeded from screaming to funeral lamentation, which, with a woman like her, would as a rule take three to four hours to come to an end. Uncle Pan turned as white as a sheet of paper, madly acratched his head. But unexpectedly She-crow paused for a while in her sobbing, and started to wipe the gushing tears with the edge of her garment. Meanwhile she murmured with groans: "Uncle Pan,if you want to save my life and the life of my baby, you must go to the County City at once and tell the authorities that Mao Mao is a good man,the best peasant in the world. Then they will release him at once. They believe your words,I know, because you are all comrades. You saved Mao Mao once when the revolutionaries first took him to you for evidence. You must go to the County City at once,Uncle Pan. You're the revolutionary village head,I know. Don't think that I am foolish."
