11.22 Ĉiufoje,kiam ŝi finis siajn sonĝrakontojn,ŝi ekplorsingultis kaj komencis lamenti sian malfavoran sorton. Kaj ŝi rifuzis ĉian konsoladon far mia patrino. Ŝi ankaŭ ne volis foriri. Ŝi nur sidadis en nia salono ĝis elĉerpiĝis ŝiaj larmoj kaj obtuziĝis ŝia voĉo. Tiam ŝi ekkrius, "Ha! mia patrino! Mia patrino kara! La bebo moviĝas denove en mia interno!" Poste ŝi subtenis sian ventron per ambaŭ manoj tre singardeme kaj marŝis hejmen,subtenata de mia patrino,por dormi.
La kvaran tagon,posttagmeze,Korvino restadis en nia salono ankoraŭ tri horojn,lamentante pri sia trista sorto kaj plendante pri la malvarma temperaturo dum la nokto,kiu sendormigis ŝin ĝis la tagiĝo. Tiam,post alia kutima ekplorado kiel kulmino de la vizito,ŝi ŝanceliĝis hejmen,subtenante la uteron per la manoj. Tuj kiam ŝi malaperis,trema maljunulo enŝteliĝis per paŝoj kaŝiĝemaj. Tio estis Onklo Pan. Li aspektis pli maldika kaj liajn okulojn ĉirkaŭringis nigro. Videble li estis sendorma dum tiuj noktoj.
"Onklo Pan! Do vi revenis! Vi devis enveni antaŭ unu momento. Korvino ĵus foriris," mia patrino diris.
"Jes,mi vidis ŝin hejmeniri," Onklo Pan diris.

Each time she finished her dream-tales,she would burst into a fit of sobs and started to bewail her hard fate. And she refused any kind of consolation from my mother. Nor would she go away. She just sat in our living-room till her tears were exhausted and her voice grew dull. Then she would cry,"Ah,my mother! My dear mother! The baby is moving inside me again!" Then she would hold up her belly with both hands carefully and walk home,with my mother's support,to sleep.
On the fourth day,in the afternoon,She-crow stayed in our living-room for another three hours,lamenting about her sad destiny and complaining about the cold spell at night,which made her sleepless till daybreak. Then after another customary burst of sobs at the conclusion of the visit she tottered home,holding up her womb with both her hands. As soon as she disappeared from view a shaky,old man ducked in with furtive steps. It was Uncle Pan. He looked thinner and his eyes were ringed with black patches. He must have been sleepless all these nights.
"Uncle Pan! So you're back! You should have come in a moment earlier. She-crow is just gone," my mother said.
"Yes,I saw her going home," Uncle Pan said.
